A new year
Well when I look back at last year, I realise what a great one it was for me personally.
I got to see The Casbah Club for the first time, Ray Davies for the first time, The Who for the 45th time; did I mention I was at Live8....front fookin row right in between Roger and Pete?
Live8 was an amazing experience, a wonderful day, got to stand next to some girl with no clothes on!!!!! And managed to keep my eyes pointed towards the stage for most of the day!
Then in December I was invited to Rachel Fullers Basement Jam, this was held at Pete Townshend studio at The Boathouse, Twickenham, what a night that was, again I was front row dead centre. Simon and Pete were within spitting distance, something that didn’t go un-noticed, especially by the stains on my shirt when I got home.
How can this year live up to last? Well it's a start on April 1st when the Who Convention I am helping to organise gets under way, it is promising to be something rather special and all profits will be going to the Teenage Cancer Trust a charity not only a favorite with The Who, but also a charity I myself am very happy to be associated with, they do a wonderful job and long may they continue.
After the Convention there is a Who tour in the pipeline, rumor has it that The Casbah Club will be supporting, if this turns out to be correct, this will be concert heaven, Simon Townshend will have his work cut out however, as he will be playing in both bands. Let’s also hope Oasis let us have our drummer back! Then the fun can begin.

Fantastic year indeed Ron!!
I can't wait to see the Casbah
Club,I hope they do indeed open
up for the Who like originally
talked about by Pete and hinted
by Simon!I am so sick about the
Isle of Wight as we had paid $45
for it on November 23rd!! The
guy emailed us 8 days ago and
apologized and said that he'd
express mail it the next day.
Well,7 days after we still don't
have it.Stay away from Mark McFalls
if you ever get into a deal situation with him.The Simon pics
are from a concert in NYC that
Marc filmed and I put the DVD in
and snapped pics off the TV screen
with my new camera phone that I
got for Christmas.Aaaaaaah technology!! I will send the
Isle of Wight as soon as I get
it,I assume you did not get a copy
as of yet?Anyways, say hello to Andy
and Chris and all, thanks for your
kind comments my friend!! :O)
Hi Ron,
Belated Happy New Year's wishes to you. You just know that, with all this promised activity, it's going to be a great one. Good luck with the Who Convention- I'm still wondering about whether or not I'll make it, but I wish you all the best with it.
Cheers,
AM
Now that 2006 is coming to a close, I can say with great authority that it has been one hell of a Who Year! For Who fans young and old 2006 has been a dream, please, no one wake us up in 2007!!
Ron, thanks for the note!
Meg
